Engagement

Public engagement opportunities for residents in Riverbend and Greater South West Edmonton.

River Valley Planning Modernization

Share your thoughts on the future use and protection of our Ribbon of Green by joining a River Valley Planning Modernization engagement event. Phase 3 engagement starts June 12 and runs to July 4. To take the survey, sign up for an engagement activity, or for more information, visit edmonton.ca/RibbonOfGreen.

Soaring

The Soaring Pre-Concept Open House happens on Thursday, June 1 in the Brander Gardens School Gym from 530-830pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
This is an opportunity to learn more about the project, share ideas, and give input on the draft vision for the 10-acre site.
More information: https://soaring.site

Naturalization and Tree Planting

The City is conducting a second phase of engagement and will use feedback to contribute to the new Naturalization, Reclamation and Restoration Plan (NRRP). Please click here for details on how to get involved.

Survey will be open until May 29th.

Public Spaces Bylaw Review Project

The City of Edmonton is reviewing the three primary public spaces bylaws that regulate behaviour in public spaces (places the public can gather) in Edmonton to replace them with a new Public Spaces Bylaw that will allow for clear, effective and equitable application of the bylaw and enforcement measures. These bylaws include the Public Places Bylaw, the Parkland Bylaw and Conduct of Transit Passengers Bylaw.

The Public Spaces Bylaw survey will be open from May 8 – May 21, 2023

Visit engaged.edmonton.ca/PublicSpacesBylaw for the opportunities to provide input.

Zoning Bylaw Renewal

The public engagement for the final draft for the Zoning Bylaw Renewal began May 1st and will only occur for one month. The goal in the City Plan is for half of all new housing units to occur within existing neighbourhoods. This is an important document that will impact how our neighbourhoods develop going forward. A strong citizen and community voice to bring a neighbourhood perspective is required. Have your voice heard and engage at https://engaged.edmonton.ca/zoningbylawrenewal.

Smarter Infill Edmonton (a community group) is advocating for a longer public engagement, if you would like to advocate your support, email your councillor Tim Cartmell.

Terwillegar Drive Expansion

The most recent public engagement session took place on April 17th. For more information on construction impacts and timing, visit the Terwillegar Drive expansion page.
