Beat the Heat With a Community Swim!

Community swims are a great way cool down, get some exercise, and have fun with friends and neighbours. Don’t miss out!

Summer is quickly approaching and we’ve already experienced some hot and humid days in Edmonton, so where can you turn to cool down and get in some recreation or relaxation? If you have a community league membership within our readership area, you can participate in free community swim hours!

Where you go for a community swim depends on which community league you’re a member of. Members of Brookview Community League, Oak Hills Community League, The Ridge Community League and Riverbend Community League can all enjoy access to the Booster Juice Recreation Centre in Terwillegar (2051 Leger Road NW) on Sundays from 5 to 7 p.m.

Additionally, for those who live in the Riverbend Community League area and hold a current membership, a free swim is available at Confederation Leisure Centre (11204 43 Avenue NW) on Saturdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Based on a recent review of residents accessing free community swims, this may be a quieter option for those looking for a more tranquil swim time.

For those without a membership, purchasing one is easy, relatively affordable and comes with lots of perks. You can visit your local community league’s website or visit efcl.org to purchase your membership online. If you prefer to make your purchase in person, community league memberships are available at TRAC Community Office during office hours. Membership applications & payment may also be dropped off in the mailbox beside the TRAC Office door. Acceptable methods of payment include cash, cheque, e-transfer or debit. Visit yegtrac.ca for more information and office hours and location.
