Hall Rentals

We have two great rental spaces: Riverbend Community Centre and Brookside Hall.

Current Riverbend Community League members receive a 25% discount.

Riverbend Community Centre

Located at at 258 Rhatigan Road East, it is ideally suited for family and community gatherings. This air-conditioned facility includes a kitchen, a dance floor, an outdoor patio, and is wheelchair-accessible. There are large washrooms and lots of parking.

The hall has round tables (5′ across), 8′ rectangular tables and banquet chairs. The Main Hall is equipped with a kitchen, bar and coffee urns.
The Social Room contains a sink, small fridge and coffee maker.

Brookside Hall

Located at 5320 143 Street, it is great for birthday parties, smaller family functions or meetings. Two skating rinks and a playground are adjacent to this venue. There is a kitchen with a stove, standard fridge/freezer and microwave. There is a serving counter between the kitchen and main hall. Tables and chairs are provided.

Frequently Asked Questions

All RENTERS must obtain commercial general liability insurance, of a minimum of $2,000,000 coverage amount, to protect the RENTER against liability for damage claims through public use of or arising out of accidents occurring in or around the facility. Any such policy shall name the RIVERBEND COMMUNITY LEAGUE as an additional insured. The insurance policy shall also provide coverage for contingent liability of the LEAGUE on any claims or losses.

Event insurance can be obtained through companies such as AMA, Pal Canada, Brokerlink, DUUO or NFP.

Anyone can request to rent the hall; Community League members receive a preferred members rate.

The hall only provides tables and chairs. There are many rental companies in the city that offer cutlery, utensil and linen rentals.

You are welcome to bring in your own food or hire a caterer. Please ensure that your caterer has a valid Alberta Food and Food Establishment permit issued by Alberta Health Services and Insurance.

Alcohol

If you will be serving alcohol at your function, you are required to obtain a liquor license from Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) along with Special Occasion Host Liquor liability insurance. 

Alcohol consumption must be completed one hour prior to the end of your function.

We must receive the liquor license and insurance two weeks before your function begins. The hall Keys will not be released to you if the required documents have not been received.

You will have access to the hall when your time on your rental agreement begins, you must exit the hall when your time on the rental agreement ends.

Please contact the Facilities and Rentals Manager at least 24 hours in advance to arrange access.

Alcohol consumption must be completed one hour prior to the end of your function.

You do have to set up the tables and chairs.

Tables and chairs do not have to be put away; the custodian cleans, sanitizes and puts them away.


We accept Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT), and cheques. Personal cheques will be accepted up until two weeks before the function; after this time only EFT or certified cheque will be accepted.

Agent Status Program

The Riverbend Community League is part of the Agent Status Program. This gives authority to Edmonton Police Service members to act as agents for the property. EPS members have the authority to act on behalf of the Riverbend Community League and may enter the premises at any time without having any other permissions.
